The Historic Preservation Office coordinates with the State Historic Preservation Office and Advisory Council on Historic Preservation on all historic preservation issues related to properties at NASA Ames that are designated as historic places, historic landmarks, or historic districts by the Secretary of the Interior and the State Historic Preservation Office. Such issues include proposals for development, modification and adaptive reuse of buildings, and the nomination of new candidate buildings for consideration as historic places. The Office provides representation for NASA Ames as the Facility Historic Preservation Officer in all matters related to historic preservation.
